We always extol the great benefits of self defense training in the obvious ways. Personal protection is indeed a very important factor to a long and happy life. Because I have been affected by crime in a personal way, I will always believe that this is the first and foremost benefit of learning combat self defense.

When we’re talking about fighting and self defense tactics, it is an assumption among novices that size matters. A smaller, weaker person is doomed to be the victim of a larger, stronger attacker. Looking at statistics for rape, robbery and other assault, you can see that this assumption is also alive and well in the minds of the bad guys.
