Every individual has a desire to protect the well-being of their loved ones. One way to do this is to create a family plan that includes every person who lives inside of the home together. Should an emergency arise, each member will know what their particular role will be and will know exactly what to do when they have a plan to follow.

I am still surprised that some people find that they need more reason than personal safety to consider self defense training (sometimes misspelled self defence training). I know my situation is a little different; and perhaps anyone who has ever been the victim of a violent attack would think along the same lines as I do.

A sad fact that many people are probably unaware of is that stalking is a crime that is one the rise. In fact, according to the National Center for Victims of Crime, over one million women and approximately 400,000 men are stalked each and every year. This takes away the assumption that movie stars and other famous people are the only individuals who have stalkers.

In a time when budgets are tight for both families and school districts, it should come as no surprise that there are many latchkey children. In fact, it is estimated that there are actually about five million of them between the ages of five and 13.

Many teens take jobs babysitting for families with small children. Those who “go the extra mile” may obtain training in CPR and other babysitting skills. This is a great step for responsible babysitters to take. However, part of the responsibilities of babysitting is to ensure the safety of those under the care of the babysitter; this includes safety from dangerous situations and people.

I believe that everyone can benefit if they learn self defense. If you are serious about your safety and your training, then there can be an overall growth process that takes place. You can study martial arts self defense, or you can learn self defense through a combat course or even through my DVD program;

Getting stuck on the side of the road is not only inconvenient; it can be scary. Women, especially, should take extra precautions with their vehicles and educate themselves about road safety.
