We always extol the great benefits of self defense training in the obvious ways. Personal protection is indeed a very important factor to a long and happy life. Because I have been affected by crime in a personal way, I will always believe that this is the first and foremost benefit of learning combat self defense.

Everything in life follows its own inherent nature. We just have to go back to the jungle analogy to see that. Violence is no different. At the very basic level, violence occurs because the predator wants something.
Something spiked my interest the other day. In Southern California, there is a predator on the loose (wishful thinking that it’s only one). This man has such a need to pounce on any unsuspecting prey that he cut off his ankle bracelet that held him “prisoner” and left the city where he lived.
Hand to hand combat training can teach combat self defense to any person who has a little guts. You don’t have to have extraordinary strength to be trained in the techniques; you just have to want to know how to effectively protect yourself.
