Hanging a Punching Bag

If you’re hanging a punching bag it means you’re taking the first step towards becoming a more dedicated martial artist. It won’t matter though if you don’t use it and you don’t want it falling apart on you so select a good quality leather bag from a reliable manufacture. If you want to train outdoors keep in mind that the bag will take damage from the elements so you find a good canvas bag. Hang your bag where you workout and find a secure location to mount it, or if you don’t have a place you might have to go with one of the standing punching bags. Some are pretty good, and you can control how hard they’re by how much water you add and take away.

The first punching bags were filled with sand or even corn, and took a pounding from early fighters. Over time the designs have improved, and you can find cylindrical heavy bags hanging in boxing gyms in London and in Thailand. If you want to harden your body as you strike take the gloves off and pound away at the leather bag making your hands and feet tougher. Hanging a punching bag will give you a great workout, but you can take it down again manhandle it practice your wrestling. Lift it over your shoulder and build your body and give yourself a full body workout.

While many men use punching bags regularly women should also be hanging a punching bag in their home or gym. Punching bags provide a different kind of workout as you build up your upper body. You will see your upper body tighten up and your arms will look great and yourself defense moves will hit that much harder. You may bag up your hands a little, but they will heal up.

Hanging a punching bag isn’t just about making you life better by improving your health and fitness, but it will give you a form of stress relief. It also let’s you get used to hitting a target repeatedly without mercy. The more you get used to striking the less likely you are to stop when you’re hitting an attacker. Don’t just look at that heavy bag hanging from the ceiling, step up and start hitting it.
