Martial arts is by far is on of the best ways to build muscle and burn fat. This is the goal of many workout programs and what many drugs claim to do for those who use them as part of their workout. Constantly drilling moves, push-ups, and time spent hitting the heavy bag are just some of the exercises that will build strength for a martial artist in addition to weight training, and cardio vascular training. Martial art has always been considered to give you an edge in a fight why not in bodybuilding. A gym workout can get repetitive while martial arts always presents new challenges physically and mentally. Martial arts have always instilled discipline and discipline is necessary for success in fitness, and should be part of your body building workout.

Though weight training and running are very important to building a strong healthy body martial arts is a good balance of the two workouts. Performing martial arts is an intense cardio vascular workout in preparation for a match or combat survival. Physical training like pushups and sit-ups and other calisthenics will build tremendous functional strength. Muscle is denser then fat and it may take time before you see results of your hard work. Don’t give up keep working out and training at the dojo. There are other ways to workout without even thinking about it throughout your day. If you do a lot of heavy lifting in your job you hardly want to spend more time lifting weights on your down time and probably don’t need to, but there other areas that may need work. You may be the strongest person on the job site but you may still be well served by a regular martial arts workout.

Another way to speed up results you may want to make changes to your diet. This doesn’t mean eating only rice and drinking water. Instead of large meals have smaller healthier meals and cut down the amount of alcohol you consume, and start drinking more water. Sleep is another factor people neglect because they don’t realize how important it is to good health. Get enough rest every night and you will notice your energy levels go up and workouts won’t seem as long. You will have your morning cup of coffee because you want it not because you need it. With bodybuilding don’t just limit yourself to weights.
