The martial arts is all about training and conditioning your body and mind for war. Though the modern battlefield has become littered with advanced weapons systems and computers have become common place it is still all about what the individual soldier can do in a fight. When you get passed the advanced technology it is all about the biggest fight in the dog not the biggest dog in a fight. Many times it comes down to the human spirit that drives an army to victory despite more advanced weaponry. The martial arts help harness the internal power and will of an individual and let’s you get the most out of your courage and bravery. You provide the fuel and the fire the martial arts let you do the damage you need to do to survive.
From the first warriors who learned there was a better way to throw a punch to the highly skilled Olympic athletes who spend years learning to harness there power it has been all about doing what is necessary to win. The martial arts isn’t so much about doing impressive feats of strength and agility, but about knowing what the right thing to do is when trouble strikes. While most styles were developed with military applications in mind it is really for anyone who wants to survive another day. Because others are physically stronger and just plain bigger then you, you need to have every advantage to help you survive on the field of battle. The field of battle of coarse can be anywhere from a parking lot to a train station to a commercial airliner flying high above the ground.
You didn’t choose to fight, but you won’t be losing the fight either. The martial arts is all about getting used to how to fight and conditioning yourself for battle. From basic self defense to sport combatives it all helps you develop skills and an understanding of what is necessary to survive. You give in you could die it is that simple, and you can’t possibly think that is a viable option. You do what you need to survive, and part of that is preparing ahead of time with the martial arts. You need good self defense training not, because things are bad, but for when they can go bad which can happen at any time. Be ready with the martial arts.
