Martial Arts Hall of Fame
In every field someone is the best and when they reach the top they’re recognized by others and put into the hall of fame. They set the bar for the rest of us and inspire us to do better as well as a source for inspiration and knowledge. In martial arts there are many who have done a lot to advance the fighting arts. Some have created new techniques while others have earned many honors for sports competitions, along with many other ways. If you’re searching for the martial arts hall of fame you might be a little confused right now because your search engine has come up with so many results. The reason for that is there isn’t any one hall of fame for martial arts.
If you think about it there are a lot of halls of fame out there, even for just one sport. Sure everybody knows professional baseball, hockey, and football as well as other professional sports teams have their honored athletes, but what about the rest? Colleges and high schools have their own hall of fame athletes with that are important to them, and there are many leagues that aren’t professional – but they have their heroes.
Martial arts can be broken up into three categories: self defense, combat sport and cultural fighting arts. All are important, but not all have competitions to judge who the best are in their area. Sure combat sports like Judo, wrestling, and Tae Kwon Doe are in the Olympics and have honored athletes, but what about those who practice Karate or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, don’t deserve honor as well. How do you know when someone is at the top of their game in self defense? They might only use what they learned once, but if they survived it’s an achievement. Some people reenact medieval combat and know all their weapons, but outside of their group they might go unnoticed – even though they are martial arts experts too.
Fortunately though there are many martial arts hall of fame sites on the Internet so you can decide who the best is and compare lists. There are even directories of halls of fame sites out there for you to view. There’s a lot out there to learn so keep training and studying.
