Martial Arts Association
There isn’t any martial arts association out there and you probably know that by now after doing a quick search of the Internet. In fact there are groups out there for not just every style of martial arts, but other things as well. If you’re in instructor looking to get support from other teachers there is an association out there for you. Want to involve religion along with your teaching; there are groups out there for every faith. Some groups are set up in the wake of violence so people can learn self defense so the next time there’s an attack they’ll be ready. Being in the same region might be enough of a reason for martial arts schools and instructors to join together. The only question is the martial arts association you’re looking at right for you.
Now some organizations like to say they’re free of ego, politics, and other bull that will ruin any group. The problem is they’re lying because people are involved. Whenever people are involved there will be more then one opinion and nothing will go completely smoothly thanks to free will. Even if your group only has a handful of people there will be fighting and disagreements. Will it turn into violence, probably not, but stuff won’t get done either. If you put someone in charge there will be people who don’t like how they run things and will always be against them. If you vote on everything things will take time, and there will always be people who didn’t get what they wanted. That all being said, there are still benefits to forming an association, and nobody is perfect. You do your best to get things done, and you try to work with people no matter what.
Joining a martial arts association can be one of the best things that ever happened to you as a martial artist. You have an organization behind you that will give out awards and honors. They will also keep out people that aren’t teaching properly and help promote your style of martial arts. If you find the right group you can do a lot and it will benefit you and your students. Do you have to join one, probably not, but you could end up the outsider. Do some research and find out if you want to become a member and make your decision.
