Impact Martial Arts
Now some people have chosen the name Impact Martial Arts for their school and good luck to them, but this article isn’t about them and their training. It isn’t about whether it’s good or bad, and if you’re a school with that name you’re really the only one who is in a position to judge the school on its merits. This article is about real martial arts and what they’re meant for not what people think they’re about.
Martial arts are meant to prepare you for combat and should be used for self defense against all the evils of the world. Yes martial arts can be sports, but the competition is supposed to prepare and condition you for real combat. Maybe you’ve heard this message before and think your style is just fine, but take a second look at what you’re doing. Can you really hold your own against a real street fighter? Can you mix it up with someone who wants to hurt and kill you? Dancing around in funny uniforms might be okay, but do you have what it takes to live?
Real impact martial arts are all about forceful contact like when two cars slam into each other. It’s about doing damage with each hit, and you need to know how to hit hard, and get out of the way when someone tries to hit you. Keep moving, taking your ground and hitting as hard as you can. For you to do the most damage you need to know how to hit right and that’s where self defense training comes in.
When you’re in a real fight you have to make every shot count, because the longer you fight, the greater chance that you will get hurt. You don’t have to be a close combat expert to know that. If you hurt someone badly you can escape, and if they don’t stop well you can finish them off – but only you can make that call.
Don’t lose a fight because you don’t know how to hit hard and do damage. You can talk about how great your style is all you want, but if it doesn’t do what you need when you go into action it’s just a waste of your time. Go into action and be ready with real self defense training.
