Jiu Jitsu Forum

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few decades you know how much the Internet has become part of people’s lives. People are banking, shopping, meeting their next lover, and communicating on the net. The Internet is great for sharing ideas with people from all over with different backgrounds. It might have only started out for a handful of people, but now you would be hard pressed to find someone who wasn’t affected by the Internet.

It should be no surprise that martial arts has made its way to the net, and things will never be the same again. For many martial artists, it’s a way to communicate with others outside of their group, and every style is represented. The more popular styles will even have their own forums, and it shouldn’t be too hard to find a Jiu Jitsu forum.

The problem with forums is that any moron can write anything, and people who don’t know better will eat it up. For example, some people actually think Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is so effective that it is used by Japanese police officers. Well, that’s a lie and despite what some people say Jiu Jitsu was created in Japan and the Gracie family only made changes to their Judo training to fit their own wrestling style. They didn’t invent ground fighting, and going to the ground is the worst thing you can do in a fight. Some people even think mixed martial arts or MMA is its own style, and even though there are people who practice more then one style, MMA is a type of combat sport match.

When you go online and start posting on a Jiu Jitsu Forum just remember people can put whatever they want on the forum. It is all just people’s opinions for the most part and though some people might be right they can also be wrong. Use your PC to do research and look for good sources that have proof rather than someone’s wild claims. Maybe the truth isn’t as exciting as some of the wild stories people come up with, but at least you will have all the facts. If you do a little reading you will find out what works for combat sports won’t always work for self defense. Don’t waste your time with people that think they know what they’re talking about.
